November 9-13, 2015 Week 12

We are in the middle of fall!  The countdown is on until Thanksgiving and then Christmas!

I can't believe how fast time is flying by, it is almost the end of the second six weeks!

Thanksgiving is 18 days away and Christmas is 46 days away!  Gobble gobble and Ho Ho Ho!

We took a Unit 1 Math test and all the boys and girls did a super job!  It was over skills that we covered during the first six weeks.  (graphing, tally marks, time, and addition/subtraction number sentences.)  BRAVO!!!

We will read "Life in the Forest."  It is an expository text that tells about plants and animals in a forest.  Our reading skills are to blend and read long u words; author's purpose; singular and plural nouns; inflected ending -ed; review contractions; and Saxon Phonics.

In Math we will continue working with numbers up to 99.  We will use place value and write numbers in expanded form; and order and compare numbers.

In Science we will explore how objects move. (push, pull, zigzag, back and forth etc.)

In Social Studies we will identify Goods and Services.

Over the next couple of weeks we will make Thanksgiving crafts and read various Thanksgiving stories and discuss how the Pilgrims and Indians came together and celebrated the first Thanksgiving.

Please save BOX TOPS for our class and send them to school with your child.  Thanks!
