November 13-17, 2017 Week 14

One more week until Thanksgiving!  This week we will celebrate our class family by making friendship salad.  I will be asking each student to send a specific fruit to go in our salad.  I will attach what your child needs to bring on the newsletter tomorrow.  Please send by Wednesday.

We will only have homework on MONDAY of this week!  Tuesday is International Night and many students will be busy getting ready to participate in the program.

We will read "Honey Bees."  It is an Expository Text that tells facts about bees.  Our reading skills are to blend and read long e, ee words; compare and contrast; identify the number of syllables in a word; and recognize nouns in sentences; and practice Saxon Phonics.

In Math we will subtract numbers from 20.  We will use manipulatives and learn to count back.

In Science we will identify  "Objects in the Sky".  We will discuss the sun, moon, and stars and learn about constellations.

In Social Studies we will continue to learn about traditions and customs.  Last week we learned about symbols of America.  We made the American Flag, The Liberty Bell, and The Statue of Liberty.  We took a virtual tour of The Statue of Liberty.
