February 16-20, 2015 Week 23

This week we will be reading"Cinderella."  Our reading skills are...  to identify the theme in a story; blend and read words with vowel digraph ea; use adjectives to describe; discuss fairy tales; and practice daily Saxon Phonics.

In Math we will work on graphs and interpreting data; and we will continue to practice counting money using the "hairy money" strategy.  (Let your child show you)

In Science we will review weather and seasons.

In Social Studies we will learn how people use natural resources.

Because of the cold and possibly icy weather predicted for Tuesday, our Math and Science Night has been moved to Thursday, February 19.   Tickets are 25 cents!   There will be games and you can also buy "Supper in a Sack" for 25c!  It's a footlong hotdog,  sun chips, dessert and a drink!   Yummy and cheap!
            ALSO
A big thanks to all who sent games for the Silent Auction for our Math and Science Night.  Mrs. Harrison says that it looks like we have enough games to make 3 baskets!  We couldn't have done this without your help!

Remember to keep reading at home to build fluency and instant sight word recognition.  Don't forget students who have met their AR reading goal by May 1 will be treated to a Glow Bowling trip in May.  READ READ READ!
